Here are a few shots and a story behind the image of the week - The Sentinels.

4 weeks ago I closed the door on Elements 2024 a week long photography workshop in Scotland. A resounding success but with lots learned and improvements added to the next. Yup the next, 2025! Is up and ready, live with this new website. The bells the whistles, the thoughts and the dedication, time has come to move this chapter of photography into the next heart filling, passion sharing creative endeavour…

The Sentinels are three Birch Trees I really couldn’t take my eyes off.

The group of us had been walking for quite some time, thoroughly enjoying the experience as we witnessed the magnificent light change over the landscape. All along the tranquil banks of the loch, these stunning birch trees stood tall in an array of unique shapes and sizes, each one beautiful in its own right. We had taken quite a few photos during this inspiring outing, and I was actively helping to guide everyone with their composition choices and providing tips on how to make the most of the natural light. Additionally, I made sure to take a few shots myself, taking a moment to truly bask in the stunning light we were all so fortunate to be gifted with. These moments are not only exciting for individual photographers, but even more so when they are shared with others. The workshop clients had a field day capturing images, and so did I. To see everyone truly enjoying this shared moment lights up my day, and throughout the workshop, we enjoyed many shared experiences that blossomed into delightful conversations that continued well into the late evenings.

To see, arrange, simplify and fill your sensor with light.

ELEMENTS 2025 - 5 days 6 nights of doing what we love, but with added connection, creativity and a deeper meaning to the WHY we create. You can read and book you place here
